I took Spanish in high school, squeezing 5 years of study into 4 years of school, and then another 4 classes or so in college. Then I quit studying it.
I’ve been trying to get back into it, so I’m using Duolingo, which lets you learn a new language (or brush up on an old one) in as little as 5 minutes a day. Yeah, I know I sound like an advertisement, but I promise it’s not. I’ve been doing it off and on for the last 3 months, and it’s helped me remember more Spanish and be able to understand more of the conversations I hear at work.
This little gem came across today:
Thanks, but I promise I don’t need a man. This is just one of those bizarre sentences that come across. Sometimes I’m telling the site that bears eat penguins for lunch, and that my crab drinks milk. I guess it’s one way to get the point across and be memorable, but I had a double take at this one.
